Brand on the wall

The rec room is not quite finished but I had to share the project in there that I did today.  We registered our own brand last year - the Rockin' S-Squared.  Every farm needs a brand, right? So in the rec room we thought it would be fun to put it up on the wall.  Hubby's idea.  It was a great one!  I went to a sign company and had them print it on vinyl to adhere to the wall.  You may have seen these at craft stores.  I have one with a Bible verse on it in the kitchen.  Anyway, they are super easy to do and fun too.
Here is how you do it:
Make sure to put  the decal right where you want it.  I measured carefully and used a level to make sure it was straight.  Tape the decal to the wall along the top edge.  Working from the top, remove the back layer of paper and press decal lightly on the wall.  Here I am using the squeegy to remove air bubbles.  The texture on the wall shows through.  It actually looks like it is painted on.
Then working in a see-saw fashion, slowly peel off front layer exposing the vinyl underneath.  Be sure to make sure all edges are secure as you go.  Sometimes you have to go back and rub them down again.
Viola!  I think it looks super cool!
I cost me $80 to have a 3 foot square custom made, just in case you wanted to know.

  1. I like it! The boys are trying to put FATHEADS on their bedroom walls, but the lovely 70's swirled plaster is not working so well... Thanks to the scrapbooking mom, they are staying up so far with glue dots.
