Oh, Christmas Tree

Oh, I do love going to get a real Christmas tree however this year's trip was a little more than I bargained for.  Hubby couldn't go so the boys and I set off to get one.  I voted for a tall slender Frasier Fir but they liked a shorter well shaped Noble Fir.  They know Mom always gets the final say on such things but I let the Noble win out. So the men at the lot drilled it and tied put it on top of the Tahoe.  Halfway home the thing starts to shift.  I was watching it through the sunroof as I gingerly drove down the road.  Then the boys discovered the limb that one side was tied down with was breaking.  *note to self - always take extra rope*  So Jonah riding "shotgun" opened the sunroof and held on with both hands, in a freezing drizzle, as we drove 4 more miles to home.  Finally made it!  Set it in the stand, and it was so crooked! I mean like 35 degrees crooked!  I thought I was going to cry.  Then Wayne came home for lunch and saved the day by redrilling the tree & getting it to stand up straight.  Thanks, Honey.

Now for the fun part - decorating.

Over the last two years, we have been given lots of farm ornaments so this year we have a farm tree.  It's trimmed with lots of red and silver glass balls, silver bells, white snowflakes, red wooden beads and all kinds of farming ornaments.
Let's take a closer look at some of my favorites...

Santa holding a pig and a pitchfork

Cowboy boots

Tractors

Lots of horses, chickens, and pigs

And an Oklahoma Santa with cowboys and indians on his coat and a scissortail flycatcher in his hand.
I love that one!

And this is what it looks like~
Oh, Christmas tree, we wondered if you were going to make it but you look pretty now.
