Rejoicing in the rain

No one wishes for rain on Easter morning ~ except us.  You see, we haven't had rain on our farm in over 60 days.  60!  It was so dry.  When you live in a neighbhorhood and can turn on a sprinkler, you never get truly desperate for rain.  But with horses and cattle whose lives depend on pasture grass, we were desperate. However, God provides in big ways and small ways. This Easter morning we are rejoicing in the rain!

  1. Happy Easter, Kim! We have rain today, too, and it smells so good, but given we've had unseasonably cool weather here in Western WA, I wish I could send you some of ours! Yesterday was so sunny and warm (almost 70 degrees!) I almost couldn't handle it. I mean, really, I broke a sweat! I'm actually thinking fondly of weeding in the rain today.

    Enjoy your rain!

  2. Oh lucky you!!! I'm still waiting for it at our place. N Dallas areas had storms last night but we just heard some faint rumbles.

  3. Blessings to you and your family, Kim. I know how it is without rain. We had two drought summers in a row and no pasture. We were buying hay by fall. That's really expensive until the next spring grass. I hope the rain comes throughout the spring and summer for you.

  4. So glad you got your rain.
We have had plenty here, this week is calling for another four days of rain.
I just spend more time in the greenhouse because as you said our critters rely on green pastures. Happy Easter!

  6. Praise be to God for the rain. My daughter dyed our deviled eggs as you described and they were a big hit, thanks for the idea.

  7. As a farm and ranch agent and a member of a ranching family, I am feeling your pain in this drought. Here in Texas, we are still waiting on the much needed rain, but I am glad to hear that you guys are getting some in OK... It gives me some hope for the rest of us.

    Happy Easter!

  8. Hope everyone had a great Easter! We got about 3/4 of an inch of rain today and might get more. Sadly, I know that there are many areas around us who still have not received any rain. Our thoughts and prayers are for you all and that God would bless us all with rain. There is nothing more refreshing than His blessings.
