Ruffled apron kit

While shopping for fabric for a new apron last week, I happened upon this:

It wasn't the style apron I was looking for but do you see that yellow sticker?  That means clearance.
$4 ~ yes, I said four ~ sold!
I bought other fabric too.  It wasn't $4.
And yes, I have 3 aprons hanging in the mudroom already but a girl needs one to match all her daily outfits, right?  I'm glad you agree.  My hubby doesn't think that is so important.

Back to the apron kit ~

The different fabrics were printed on one piece.  Genius!  Just cut out and follow the directions ~
the directions on the fabric that is:

Iron & Sew.

Iron &

Wear!

So feminine & frilly
& only $4!

A farm girl can't have too many aprons!

  1. Good Morning Kim,
What a sweet apron and only $4...wow did you ever score! I need to find something like that just to get me started sewing again :) How simple can you get LOL. I have 3 aprons hanging in my back porch and one in the kitchen and I'm always on the hunt for more. Enjoy your new aprons and thanks for sharing your sewing project with us! Have a great day.

  4. Well, you just can't beat that for four bucks!! Super cute! My next project after I piece together a friends baby quilt is a clothes line apron...you know, one to hold all the clothes pins. ;)

  6. So cute! I have 3 cute apron kits that hubby put in my Christmas stocking. Have I touched them yet? Nope. But you've at least reminded me :) Yours is just darling. A pretty apron makes everything more enjoyable, in my opinion. -Tammy

  7. Hobby Lobby is the place to pick up one of these kits. They also had other easy to sew projects. Bet they will go quick though.

  9. I stumbled onto your blog from someone else I follow. I am a homeschooling mom as well. :)
I simply love aprons. I am in the process of making one for myself and my oldest daughter out of recycled curtains I found at the salvation army. I paid 3.00 for the curtains and had scraps of fabric left over from another project. The whole thing cost me a grand total of 3.00! :) I love a great find. Your apron is so pretty and frilly that I think I may try something like it for myself. Thanks for the post.

  12. What a cute apron! Now did you make a pattern from it so you can make future ones? I have to confess my aprons have to cover more of me, like having a bid. I think I'm simply a messy cook! I also wear my aprons out working in the garden and those must have pocket. Thanks for a cute post!

  13. Yes maam, I traced off the pattern. The tiered skirt is a little frilly even for me, so I traced off just the bottom layer. If I made another one, I would make it knee length and add a pocket. Come to think of it, I saw a really cute fabric that would be great for that. Would you say I was addicted to aprons if I made 3 new ones in one month?

  16. Cute apron. I am not an apron person, but I like seeing them on other gals... and even hanging up. I guess they remind me of the 50's and the ethics of those times. So wholesome!

  22. Goodness, I have more aprons than days in a month of Sundays and wear a fresh one every day. By the time I've washed a kitten's face, picked garden produce, cleaned the clothes line, dusted a table, wiped up a spill or three...etc...my apron is begging for the washing machine.
You don't have too many aprons, you don't have enough aprons! -smile-
