What's chevon?

"Wait, what's this?"

"Move out of the way.  I can read."

"Goats... that beat up... on the Mrs... will be sold... as...(gasp) chevon!"
"What's chevon?"
"You don't want to know."

"What did you do to her, Mocha?"
"She deserved it, she was trimming my hooves!"
"She trims all our hooves.  That's no reason to kick her!"

"We've got to get rid of this evidence.  Quick, help me eat it."

"You don't really mean it do you, Mrs?"
"We'll make sure she doesn't do that again."
"We're dairy goats, we wouldn't taste good at all."

"Can you forgive me, please?"
"I won't do it again.  Well maybe if you trim my hooves."

  7. Hmmm... I don't think I'd like chevon! Don't think your goats want to become chevon... and bet you wouldn't do it, either!
I hope you are OK after the kick!

  9. Hahahaha! I LOVE this post! BTW, we're considering a couple of goats but the thought of hoof trimming scares me ~ I don't even trim my dog's nails! Maybe you can give me some tips, including threatening notices for the rascals;)

  10. Despite all my years with barn animals and even a goat, I have not been able to bring myself to trim anything other than manes, tails and whiskers. Good for you.

I wondering what the chain around the neck is.. is that a sort of milking collar?

  11. The goats are just hard to get a hold of sometimes. I call it goat bling but really it's the plastic chain you buy at the hardware store with a c shaped metal clip that screws shut. The plastic will break if they get hung up on a fence so it's safer that way. At least that's what I've been told.
