White egret evenings

and mornings...and afternoons.  They have been on the pond for days now.

They are really pretty but I'm afraid they are there because the water is so low that the fish are easy prey.  I do believe they are standing on the bottom of the pond.

In high times, the water goes back to the trees.  You can see how badly we need rain, can't you?

The great blue herons are normally solitary hunters but not with bounty like this.

Maybe we should grab our poles and join them.

  2. Hi Kim..looks like there's a bit of a seasonal struggle going on at your place. It is hard to watch sometimes when things get a bit extreme!

  4. Birds like this come here in the summer time..mostly they hang out in the fields and eat what the farmer leaves behind. :D

  5. Hoping you get some needed rain soon. It is sad that some areas (even here in Canada) had major flooding and other areas are so very dry.

  7. I'll hope for rain for you if you hope for some for me! We haven't had any rain since May. It's so terribly dry here. I hope your fish find places to hide!

  9. If its any consolation, our pond is very dry also. However, we have had great thunderstorms for the past several evenings, so there is water in there. We have huge turtles and fish, and I just hope they're doing okay. It was at the point that the Blue Heron could almost walk across the pond. Hang in there ~ debi
