Goat goodbye {and hello!}

I was dreading yesterday a bit.  Although the goat girls have been sold for a month, they have been waiting to go to Tennessee and yesterday was goodbye day.  Still, I tried not to think about it and had lots to do running the boys here and there.  I would miss the goats but would hopefully get a couple of little Nigerian Dwarf wethers for pets in the spring.

Then...
 the nice lady came to get them and what did she have with her?
 Two little wethers!
They had purchased them to keep their livestock guard puppy company but didn't really want them.  So we loaded our four girl goats in the truck and unloaded two little boy goats.

Oh my goodness, they are so cute!
I just couldn't be happier with the way things turned out!
{Thank you, Honey, for saying "Yes".}

Now I just need to name them.
I'm thinking famous dynamics duos.
 Simon & Garfunkel
Hall & Oats
hmmm...
what do you think?

Update Sunday, Oct. 2nd:
It's official ~
Their names are
Lewis and Clark!
Afterall, they were on a cross country journey
and stopped along the Oklahoma (not Oregon) trail
& Lewis is a "meri-wether".

The gray one is Lewis.
And the tri-color is Clark.
I think it fits them well.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

  3. I am sure it was hard to say goodbye to your girls.....you will love your boys! I have 4 wethers and would have more if I had the room and money for all the hay! lol! Wethers make the most wonderful pets, they are so loving and loyal! My first boys will turn 4yrs old this year, we brought them home when they were 3months. We went with the Blues Brothers for naming, we have Jake and Elwood and then we brought home Guitar Murphy whom we sadly loss last winter at 2yrs old (shear heart break), We have Bones Malone......this summer we replaced Murphy's spot in the herd (not replaced in our hearts) with a already named 3yr old wether named River and couldn't change his name since he already knew his name! You may already know this but wethers can be very prone to Urinary Stones, you do not want to give much grain to them....if you have any questions on wethers I would be happy to answer!
    Enjoy them! They are soooo cute!
