Saturday Evening Post

A glimpse into the lives of the people who live in the Little Red Farmhouse. Sort of like eves dropping. It will be a quote or conversation. It may be funny. It may be sweet. Maybe a little sad. But it will always be true. We'll see if it resonates with you.

This week during lunch Jonah had a double decker BLT sandwich with two fried eggs on it.  Along with that he consumed a plateful of chips, 6 homemade peanut butter cookies, and a tall glass of whole milk.

Then...
He said sadly, "Dinner seems so far away."

{Seriously? I don't know how we afford to feed these boys!}

  1. Our six year old son found that funny. *smile* Food is always on this boys mind as well. And we are just at the beginning of the season here. *smile* He turns seven in April. *smile* Have a great day. Sincerely, Mommy of two little blessings & so much more!

  2. Yep, we have that too (though I'm afraid I tend to look at the world this way too. I can never stop thinking of FOOD!!)

  3. Girls are the same way at certain stages of their life. One of my now 13 year old twins came into the kitchen when she was about 19 months and said it smells huggy in here. Huggy was her word for hungry--she was smelling me cooking supper!

  4. Couldn't agree more...where do they put it? (And how can I grab a bit of their metabolism to burn it off?!)

  6. I agree! Where do they put it all? I have 3 boys ages 2#, 21 and 11. my 11 yr old eats more than the 2 older ones...but I always have to double my recipes for casseroles and such!
    Have a wonderful Sunday!

  8. Mine used to get up from the table, walk over to the sink to put their dishes in it, then go to the frig..."what are you looking for?" "a snack"... bottomless pits...
