A Year of Firsts

It seems appropriate today to look back on our year.
We've only lived on the farm 3 years but our lives have drastically changed.

This past year held some important firsts for us.
Shall we remember them together?

The first animals were born on our farm ~
12 little lambs

Pistache ~ our first ram

such fun to watch them play!

First shearing day

First son graduated from high school~
homeschooled all the way through.

First big barn ~
actually, it's an equipment shed
but I call it a barn.

First handspun project
completed from our own sheep

Ziggy admiring the bag I made out of her fleece

First time to butcher chickens
Wow ~ That was a big first for us!

Jared ready to get to it.

Such a classic pic!  Poor Jonah was not enjoying this part.

First time our boys saw the family cotton farm in Texas.
This one was a looong time coming!

I'm sure this year will have many firsts of it's own.
Just a hint: milking goats will be one of those  ;)

We look forward to continuing or life of living & learning on a hobby farm. We feel truly blessed to be able to do so!

Teach us to number our days aright,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
