Chasing the moon, or is it chasing me? A blog post by Tuff

I have had a "close encounter" and
I'm here to tell you it was just plain scary.

This is my story and I'm sticking with it.

As master and I were heading out to feed the livestock this strange white orb appeared in the sky.  Frightening as it was, I charged headlong down the road  barking (as mean as I could, of course) to chase it away.  After all, we know who is in charge of security around here...

Back and forth we went.  This odd thing and I... first I would chase it and then it would chase me.  Yes, I was frightened a bit but I had to keep up my courage.

It was odd though, master didn't even seem to notice.  He just kept feeding.  No matter how loud I barked and fast I ran he JUST KEPT FEEDING.  I kept thinking "What's wrong with this guy, doesn't he see we're in danger?"

I mean look at it (thanks Mom for taking the pictures, at least you saw it too).  Isn't that the scariest thing you've ever seen.  Flying up in the sky, chasing us all around...

Well, needless to say, feeding time was finally over and Master wanted to go back inside, so I summoned my courage  one last time, let out a fierce bark and retreated inside (only because Master made
me of course).  But I just want you to know I kept a watchful eye on it the rest of the morning.

Well, that's the story and no matter how scared you were through it, I just want you to know that I'll be here waiting and watching just in case it comes back.

  2. We all need someone to make sure we're safe, and isn't it comforting to know your dog is on the job! How else would you be alerted to impending doom?

Love seeing the Jacob sheep in the background.

  3. This reminds me of our Shadow. He is a big dog, retriever mixed with chow-brave and fearless-except when it thunders. Then he wants to be in someones lap. To protect them, of course! Thanks for sharing your story. God bless.

  4. I had a horse once that shared Tuff's view of the moon.

  5. Our Duke sees it too, and barks at it all night long to let us know he is on duty. Maybe if you and Duke got together, between the two of you, you could catch it.....

  6. OH maybe that's what our Max is barking about at night...not the coyotes howling or rabbits prowling... the moon. Thanks for the insight, Tuff!

So what do you think of that?
