Sixteen
At 11:59 he slipped into the world without a sound.
He didn't cry at all. His big brown eyes were busy taking it all in.
He has grown up much like that.
He is never in the limelight
but always leaves an impression.
He is rarely found without a warm smile
or a helping hand.
He is a hard worker
and loves to work out.
He is zealous for the Lord
and admires vintage trucks.
He is loyal and sentimental,
quiet and thoughtful.
He is Jonah
and he is sixteen today.
Happy Birthday to our brown eyed boy!
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great message about your son. I hope you print off this post and save it for him so he can always remember how much his mama loved him. I realize more and more (as my boys and my parents age) that I'll never be loved the same way as my parents love me (even though my husband and boys love me dearly). That feeling of knowing they have always thought I was special is so comforting.
