Running~~~~~

J2 & J3 have been running and
putting in a lot of miles.

This morning they ran a 5K race, their second in the last two weeks.
It was a chilly Oklahoma October morning with temperatures near freezing.

They finished in 26 minutes finishing 14th & 15th overall and 4th & 5th in their age bracket. Yea!

After the race, they mingled with greatness ~
greatness by teenage guy standards, for sure!

R2-D2 was the real thing,
built and radio controlled by the man in the background
with all the moves, lights and sounds.  Amazing.

Captain America
& a Twi'lek were also there.

Then they were lured to the dark side
and made friends with a Storm Trooper

and some of the Oklahoma City Thunder Cheerleaders
(dark side only from a Mom's perspective)
They were in heaven!

And finally decided that they didn't move fast enough
and needed to get away on a pair of police motorcycles. ;)

What a FUN but cold morning in Downtown OKC.

for while bodily training is of some value,
godliness is of value in every way,
as it holds promise for the present life
and also for the life to come.

  5. My second oldest daughter took up cross country - improved her time each meet - it is a hard sport, but a rewarding one. :) Your boys look very fit.

  6. Good for them! I can't get over that you have such low temperatures already ... wow - OK really goes from very high to very low quickly, eh?

  7. What an awesome experience for your sons, to run together! My brother and I ran cross country in high school and I know those times running together made us stronger (physically, mentally and in our relationship). I can tell it was a cold morning!

  8. What an awesome experience--for your sons to run together! My brother and I ran cross country in high school and those times running made us stronger physically and mentally, as well as gave us a common experience that we'll never forget. And brr! I can tell it's a cold morning!
