Crusty Bread
This bread is super easy
and super good!
Baking it in a hot enamel cast iron pot
makes it taste like it came out of a brick oven.
Mix up the night before.
No kneading.
Bake in the morning.
Then, smell the goodness in your kitchen until dinner.
Crusty on the outside.
Soft on the inside.
Yum!
I discovered this bread on Pinterest.

John 6:35
Jesus said to them,
"I am the bread of life;
whoever comes to me shall not hunger,
and whoever believes in me shall never thirst."
It looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteNothing like homemade bread. Mmmmm.
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious! You can make it in a crockpot as well - put it on a piece of parchment paper and cook, covered, on high for 1-2 hours, depending on the size of the dough, until it reaches 200 degrees. The top isn't as crusty but the bottom is. :)
ReplyDeleteYou can not beat homemade bread, it looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so perfect, Kim. I am going to give it a try. I make bread on a consistent basis - my husband only wants home made bread. But this looks like a very fun recipe to try. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAhh!! This is awesome! I've read about this method but haven't jumped in. For me, bread making and pastry making are my final frontiers of baking. I will get to this soon, though. I made my first batch of cinnamon rolls Christmas Eve and they blew my family's socks off. I know this bread would, too!
ReplyDeleteWe have a VERY cold evening in store for us in SC, wind chill below 0--have been thinking about those of you who deal with farms and cold winters all the time as we tried to figure out what to do with our chickens (we went with a light in their coop).
You will love the bread!
DeleteYes, it's so cold right now. Heat lamps, water heaters, and Carhartt overalls keep all of us (people and animals) from freezing! And as for the heat lamp, I really prefer the red bulbs. The chickens don't seem to pick at each other as much with the red as they can with the white light on all the time. But different things work for different folks. Blessings, Kim
I have one waiting to bake right this moment! Love this bread so much and just looking at your picture is making my mouth water!
ReplyDeleteStarted this last night and bake it this morning. Ate it with boiled eggs for breakfast. Want to try some with chunks of garlic in it. So good.
ReplyDeleteI'm making that bread today; it's cold, snowy, windy and it's a good day for bread. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI might actually try that! :-)
