4 lambs, wait, make that 5

The weather has warmed up and more lambs are arriving!

Daffodil, the first animal ever born on our farm,
delivered her own ram lamb.

We named him Aster because he needed a flower name. ;)  He's a four horn like his mom.  He's quite the charmer!

Her twin sister, Daylily, was not going to be outdone. She had a little ram too.  At only 5 pounds, he looks tiny.

1st time mom being protective ~ good ewe!
Here he is only 2 hours old. He doesn't have a name yet.

Ralene gave us twins, a ewe and then a ram.  She has proven not to be a great mom though.  Both babies were losing weight and she finally rejected the girl today.  Fortunately, a family that was here for shearing had told us their 16 yr old daughter would love a bottle lamb.  This afternoon, they picked her up and surprised her with it. I think it was love at first sight.  I hope they do well together.

For now, we are keeping the boy with his mom.  She is letting him nurse some but not enough so we are supplementing with bottles.  We will see how it goes.  He's the flashiest little thing!  He came out singing and dancing so I named him Astaire.  I LOVE all his spots.

We're doing A names this year
as if you didn't guess
and there will be more to come...

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come.
