Blind Bottle Lamb

 He was a twin and was left immediately with the sack still on him.  We knew as soon as we looked at him something was wrong.  His mom did too.  His eyes didn't look right.  When he got up, he wandered with no direction and kept ending up in a corner.
He appeared to be blind.

A trip to the vet confirmed what we thought. He has some vision but very little. The vet didn't see anything else wrong with him.  The good country doctor encouraged us to take him into our home and raise him as a bottle baby.

We named him Aim.

He likes to hang out with the family,

explore the farmhouse,

and nap by my spinning wheel.

And just like any other baby, he wears diapers.
Too cute!

It's amazing to see how he is adapting to his environment.  Eventually, he will go out with his one year old big sis to learn how to be a sheep.  But for now we have a blind bottle lamb in the farmhouse.

2 Corinthians 13:11
Aim for restoration, comfort one another,
agree with one another, live in peace;
and the God of love and peace will be with you.

  6. I love this story! I've been meaning to tell you that I think you should write a book that would be a devotional for homesteaders/farmers/animal lovers. Just a simple picture and a related Bible verse. The post I'm working on my blog right now has to do with pruning my muscadine vines and I keep on thinking about the "I am the vine.." verse. Thanks for modeling using God's word with our work/life around the land.

    1. That is a good suggestion. I've been collecting a few in my mind, not enough for a book though. Maybe someday... :)

  11. He is so cute and I am so proud of you for bringing him in and making him part of your family. I would do the same. I looked at ducks yesterday and I am thinking I will buy and bring into the house for a bit.
