Proud Momma ~ Part 1
It was a big day,
a milestone in Jared's homeschooling, for sure.
He and his team worked hard all semester.
The state capital awaited.
It was Mock Trial Day.
On his team was one of his lifelong friends.
It was fun to see them experience it together.
Butterflies in the stomach but still a smile for the camera.
The prosecutor was ready for opening statements.
And then there was questioning of the police officer
and the defendant. Poor girl. Jared just about had her in tears.
Guess she shouldn't have killed her husband. ;)
The Supreme Court Room was the perfect setting for the trial.
It's just beautiful!
The jury deliberated and she was found guilty.
They also got very high marks from judge and jury.
Good job prosecution team!
(This was an 8th grade project in Classical Conversations Homeschool Group.)
Consider it pure joy, my brothers,
whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing
of your faith develops perseverance.
James 1:2-3
Kim, what a fun day! I bet you were nervous too! :-) I follow The Pioneer Woman blog and she did a post about her daughter being a part of a Mock Trial. It sure is a neat experience! Love the pictures. Your son is darling! - Dori -
ReplyDeleteYou have many reason to be proud, and Jared is certainly right up there. He is a great young man... And I am proud of him, too, and you!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that he (and his 'colleagues') get to have such valuable real-life experiences! Very cool!
ReplyDeleteKim, I too live here in Oklahoma and homeschooled my kids. We always had a great time at the Homeschool Capitol Day. Always like seeing how the other homeschool families enjoy the fun times with Homeschool Capitol Day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great experience!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful opportunity for the kids. Something I'm sure they'll always remember. Congrats to all.
