Sprinkler Time
"Hey Lady, Did you know it's hot out here?"
"There is a sprinkler out here in my pasture and it's NOT on."
"Oh, yeah. Thank you, ma'am."
"Us too please."
"Me first! Me first! I never get to go first."
"I'm going first. So there."
"Yep, It's still my turn. Don't make me spit on you."
"Mom, I didn't get to go first. I always go first."
"OK. Move over. It's my turn."
"Whiners move to the back of the line."
And on and on it goes...
It's dangerous for alpaca and llamas to get overheated. So if it's over 90 degrees we turn on sprinklers in their pastures to cool them off. We keep them turned down really low so it doesn't wet down the fleece blankets on their backs and matte the fiber. They really prefer it on their legs and bellies anyway. It keeps them happy. Well, except when they are fighting over the sprinkler!

They are so cute and I don't blame them wanting the sprinkler turned on. By the way the Farmhouse is adorable.

ReplyDeleteThey have so much quirky character it must be hard not to spend way too much time just watching them ! They match my Jacob sheep too, so maybe that's why I know I'd love having them around.
ReplyDeleteI just re-read your post about your home and how you planned it , love it ! We're considering re-locating to our rural property in 2 years and thinking about re-modeling the home that is there or building. your home gave me a lot of good ideas, I love it !!
I do love that Rikasha, the guard llama matches the Jacob Sheep in color and spots. And yes, the alpaca are fun to watch. Thanks for your comments on the house. Glad you got some ideas for your upcoming remodel!
