New Rams

Our new rams have arrived on the farm
all the way from West Virginia.

6 month old Jacob Sheep Ram -
Painted Rock Storm

They both came from Painted Rock Farm.
This one is Storm.  He has four beautifully shaped horns that hopefully will grow into the classic rainbow shape.

6 month old Jacob Sheep Ram -
Painted Rock Shawn

Shawn (yes, Shawn the sheep) also has four horn genetics but his are fully fused making his horns thicker and wider.  They both have excellent bloodlines, fleece and conformation.  Since they are only six months old, we will wait until next year to breed them with any of our ewes.  For now they are in quarantine. In a few weeks we will introduce our wether to them and then they will join the flock.

We are really excited about adding these new rams!

Ezekiel 34:11
I myself will search for my sheep
and look after them.

  2. If you see any Scrub Brush Ford in their backgrounds, we have Ford on our farm. He's an old man now, but still a nice sheep, now wethered, with a lovely fleece :-).

    1. Ford is 3 generations back from our first ram, Never Winter Haagen Dazs! He is gone now but Dazs' lamb is our grown ram, Atticus, who is breeding with some of our ewes right now. Seems like he passed on his amazing fleece because every lamb from him has been wonderful. So fun to know he is at your farm. You will have to send me a picture of him. I would love to see one!

  5. Wow, they are beautiful! I can't get over their horn growth for only being 6 months old. I don't have sheep but rather goats and my boer whether has horns that long and he's 11 years old! Sheep must grow faster.

    1. They do grow fast and continue to grow throughout their lives.By two years old they are quite impressive. I've never seen a boer with that long of horns. Bet he's pretty!
