Faith

Faith ~ how do you describe it?  When you truly believe something it becomes your very heart.  Whatever we do and say becomes an extension of that belief.  To me, our faith in God is who we are as people.

Our faith is simple.  We believe the Lord God Jehovah is the creator and sustainer of all things.  We believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We believe the Bible is inspired and practical for teaching us how to live.  We believe Christ is the Son of God, born to give all those who believe in Him eternal life.  We simply believe.

At the Red Farmhouse, faith is not a Sunday event. It is a way of life. It is preached and practiced and prayed within these wall everyday.  Many years ago, when our boys were young, we began reading the Scriptures to them and praying with them before bed each night.  At first we used a Children's Bible with a daily devotion.  Then we moved to a Teen Bible.  And for the last 4 or 5 years we have read the whole Bible through.  We feel that simply reading it out loud in our home has brought blessings on us.  Planting seeds of faith in our children has been the most important thing that we have done as parents.  Seeing it shape and change their lives has been the best blessing of all.  We are not perfect.  We need lots of grace. Reading His Word daily helps us live out our faith.

I Thessalonians 4:11&12
"Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody."
