Adirondack chairs go bold!
I'm not a bold person.
I don't like to attract attention.
I wear simple clothes and little jewelry.
I know what you are thinking, "But you have a RED house!"
Yes, it was just the right color when we tried out different ones
So this last project with all those paint colors I showed you was a stretch for me.
I kept thinking, "I hope I like this."
"It's awfully bold!"
But I have to tell you...
I LOVE the Adirondack chairs painted!
How could you not?
We purchased these oak chairs last year from a local woodworker that we found on Craigslist. So comfortable but they needed some refinishing this spring.
We figured we would do two colors, maybe three. Then seeing a picture in Country Gardens Magazine inspired us. Why not all different? Really, SEVEN different colors!
The purple is my personal favorite!
I used Benjamin Moore oil based outdoor paint. And did you know you can have custom paint colors put in spray cans? Amazing! Any color you want in a can. They worked really well.
Bold or not, I think they are the right fit for the Red Farmhouse.
I am in love! They are beautiful! They are so inviting - I hear them calling me to come rest with a cool drink and a good book!
ReplyDeletethey look great!
ReplyDeleteThey are fantastic! They look so wonderful against the green grass, red house and gray gravel! You should be proud that you took the change, it worked out fabulously.

A neighbor painted each of her adirondack chairs a different bright pastel color a few years ago. Every time I drive by her place those colors put a smile on my face. Yours look great.

ReplyDeleteLove your chairs! I have five metal chair that I've painted each a different color. I just acquired two more and have been looking for tangerine in a spay can. Thank you for the tip on Benjamin Moore paint in can. Here's to painting my new chairs.
ReplyDeleteI totally adore them..now you can choose the colour that suits your mood to sit in or rearrange them in different colour combos..very nice!
ReplyDeleteOh, they're gorgeous.... how I'd love to sit down with a cuppa right there, in *warmth*..... ahhhh!
ReplyDeleteOHHH!! I'm lovin' your colors! I was sitting in one chair with my feet propped on the other thinking the blue stain was needing a facelift. A good job for the kids this summer.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors!! I've wanted an orange one for so long -- now I'm just going to do it.

ReplyDeleteI love them!
ReplyDeleteJust so you know, you do have to buy a quart of the custom paint and then pay to put it in a spray can. It is more expensive but worth it if you need just the right color.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteThey look great!!! I need some chairs on my back porch. I did not know that about the spray paint, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!! Love it and I am so, so jealous that 7 of these wonderful chairs belong to you:))), I want 2 of those chairs, and so far they are too expenmsive, because we have a lot to do with our house and garden.....but next year, when everything is done they will be the perfect b-day present for ME!
